The President of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt and former Interim President Adly Mansour has denied local media reports claiming he accepted a parliament speaker appointment offered by President Abdul Fattah Al- Sisi.

The Egyptian parliament was recently elected with a total of 568 candidates and currently awaits the appointment of 28 members by Al-Sisi.

Minister of Transitional Justice and Parliament Affairs Magdy El-Agaty expected that the parliament will hold its first session on 10 January, according to state-owned media MENA.

Mansour served as Egypt’s interim president from July 4 2013 to June 8 2014.
