Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah, who plays for Italian club Roma and the Egypt national team, requested an amnesty for footballer Mohamed Aboutrika from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi during a meeting yesterday.
According to AlMesryoon.com, Salah considers Aboutrika his role model in every aspect of his life, mainly in football. Aboutrika plays for Egypt’s Al-Ahly Club and was a former player in the Egyptian national team.
Salah seized the opportunity when Al-Sisi received the players of the national team, who returned to Cairo after they were beaten by Cameroon in the African Nations.
He asked Al-Sisi to grant amnesty to Aboutrika, who achieved many victories for the Egyptian national team when he played for it.
A couple of days ago, AlMesryoon.com reported that the Cairo Criminal Court blacklisted Aboutrika and 1,500 Muslim Brotherhood members and leaders, including the ousted President Mohamed Morsi.
Aboutrika is not a member of the Muslim Brotherhood but he was part of Morsi’s election campaign, AlMesryoon.com added.
