At least 43 people were killed in airstrikes on a local market in the city of Atareb in Aleppo, north of Syria, yesterday.
Local sources told the Anadolu Agency that three airstrikes struck the area with the injured by transferred to nearby hospitals. The number of those affected is expected to rise.
Meanwhile, civil defence teams continue rescue work at the site in the hopes of rescuing those trapped beneath the rubble.
Syria has been locked in a vicious civil war since early 2011, when President Bashar Al-Assad’s regime cracked down on pro-democracy protests. Since then, more than 250,000 people have been killed and in excess of ten million displaced, according to the UN.
