Israeli occupation authorities decided yesterday to re-allow the entry of cement into the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom (Karm Abu Salem) commercial crossing, the Palestinian Authority (PA) said.
In a statement issued by the General Administration of the Crossings, the PA said that the Israeli occupation authorities told private sector companies in Gaza that cement entry would resume today.
A couple of weeks ago, Israel prevented the entry of cement along with different commodities and prevented exports from Gaza.
Gaza has been under a strict Israeli siege for over 13 years which has led the unemployment rate in the enclave to increase massively.
Hundreds of factories have closed as a result of the lack of row materials entering the Strip.
