Kuwait has suspended passenger transport by sea due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic but shipping operations continue, the Gulf Arab state’s ports authority said today.
The Kuwait Ports Authority said in a Twitter post that the decision went into effect on Sunday, a Reuters report said.
Kuwait’s daily COVID-19 cases continued to drop, on Sunday it announced that it had registered 167 new cases over the previous 24 hour period, in addition to one death – raising the total cases and deaths to 408,245 and 2,404 respectively.
Health authorities said nearly 70 per cent of the population has now been vaccinated.
